Once upon a time there was a kingdom of Scentopia. It was one of the most glorious places in the world. On every lane, at every street corner, beautiful plants burst with colour.
The air in Scentopia was brim-full of balmy perfumes, exotic scents and heady floral aromas. It was a place where peacocks strutted proudly, birds sang high in the trees and even the plants hummed with glee.
Scentopia is a story devised by children from Thorpe Greenways Junior School, working with writer Syd Moore, illustrator Karl Lawson and workshop facilitator, Elsa James.
Narration is by David Streams with recording and sound by Andrew Delaney.
The story was commissioned by Metal as part of NetPark, a unique digital art project mapping stories and artist projects onto Chalkwell Park.
NetPark is supported by the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts – Nesta, Arts & Humanities Research Council and public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
